LOOK / FIELD NOTES
A little more attention.
Short notes on light, composition and everyday photography.
Start with the light
Before choosing a subject, notice where the light comes from. A window can turn an ordinary room into a quiet scene. Move around the same object and watch how its shape changes.
Give the frame some space
Check the edges before taking a picture. A small change in position can remove a distraction or separate overlapping shapes. Empty space can help the main subject stand out.
Return to familiar places
A familiar street looks different in rain, in evening light, or early in the morning. Revisit one place and compare the pictures. Look for changes in reflections, shadows and movement.
